Exploring Vancouver BC's Christmas Market!

To get us in the Christmas spirit we decided to drive 2.5 hours north of Seattle to Vancouver where we saw they were having a Christmas Market!

The drive up to Vancouver was pretty easy, the weather wasn’t great but it’s the end of November in the Pacific Northwest so what’re you gonna do? The border crossing was surprisingly quick, we were over in under 30 minutes and without any issues. Top tip for travelers: stay in the right lane when there’s only two as it opens up to add 3 more lanes on the right so you’ll get through faster.

After crossing the border we drive to Richmond and got some lunch at the Yanghao Center which we saw on The Adventures of A + K vlog when they passed through Vancouver a few months ago. We love Asian food so we were really excited to try it out. Unfortunately the one Tim wanted to try was cash only so he ended up going to the same one I did and the food was good.

From the market we headed to our hotel for the weekend, the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver. Situated right in downtown this was a perfect hotel for our base camp for our 2 days in Vancouver. We used points to pay for our 2 nights here so we didn’t end up paying any cash out of pocket!

After unpacking a bit in our room we headed out to the Christmas Market! It was only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the waterfront area where the Vancouver Christmas Market was and amazingly for November in Vancouver it wasn’t actually too cold.

We had purchased tickets to the Vancouver Christmas Market in advance online through their website so we were able to skip the ticket line and just have the codes scanned on our phones. Once inside we did a lap of the whole market before deciding what we wanted to eat. It wasn’t as big as most of the ones in Europe but it was still a good size and had a lot of food options which was nice. We went right when they opened so the food lines weren’t too long but I’ve heard that later on the lines can get long!

After walking around for a couple hours we headed back to the hotel for an early night because the next day was going to be a busy one!
