Camping at Colleton State Park

This past March we spent two nights at Colleton State Park and what a cute little park it is! The park is right off of I-95, only a couple miles in fact. The road into the park is well maintained and there are only twenty five campsites so it doesn’t feel overcrowded. The sites are well spaced out as well so you don’t feel like you’re on top of your neighbors. In fact our site faced foliage so we had a nice view too!

We were in site 16 and we had plenty of space for our 25-foot RV and our tow vehicle. All the sites are full hookups with power, water, and sewer, and there is a dump station if you need it. There are trash cans, and recycle bins a plenty. We unfortunately couldn’t check out the restroom situation as they were doing work on the block for the campground.

Colleton State Park isn’t huge but it does have some nice trails in the forest and an open field for games. There’s also a day use picnic area if you aren’t camping. If you’re into water activities there’s river access for canoes & kayaks.

The only downside aside from the shower block being closed was that Starlink didn’t work great because of the tree cover, but the park does offer free wifi and it mostly functioned well.

Overall this was a great stop on our trip and at $40/night I’d rate this a good deal!
